Meet & Greet

To plan a wedding you have to meet a lot of people, and each one serves a very important role on the wedding day.

Flowers- We are currently trying to think of all the different flowers we will need and where to get them from. Several people have suggested grocery store floral shops for being the cheapest, and in particular Harris Teeter for great customer service. I plan to meet with a floral shop employee of HT, but first I have to come up with the list of flowers needed. Aside from bouquets and corsages (im sure i spelled something wrong), you need flowers for the church and possibly the reception... according to Momma Wright :). {Atleast we don't need flowers for the guys... something special for them... stay tuned}. I am thinking I will use Baby's Breath as it reminds me a lot of our country theme. Wonder what will go well with it...

DJ- Next I need to schedule appointments with possible DJs. I have thought about just doing a mock DJ too, using all of the new technology to pick songs we like and make our own playlist. Seems much cheaper and I would definently know then that only approved songs were being played. This is a HUGE decision to make though so I will probably still consider both options for awhile longer.

Videographer-- Need to research theses people too :). Anyone good with a camera {WBTV}??

Reception- I also need to meet with the head of the country club, again, so that I can determine how many tables therefore how many centerpieces to come up with. As well as a million other questions we have :). I love that we have the freedom at PineLake to implement new ideas though-- and it has a gorgeous fire place inside the "reception hall". Can't wait to be there as a married lady, celebrating!

Invitations- I know who I will be using to make my invitations, but we still have to determine wording and such. This will be a FUN (aka worry free) meeting though because I love the girl to death! Church friends are the best friends!

DRESS-- my alteration lady of YEARS closed her alteration shop :/. Now I will need to find and trust someone new to alter the dress. However I have someone in mind, so I am not going to panic.... yet. Regardless, I have to plan when to alter it and get it back in time to take some bridal shots before the big day! {Less than 5 months!!}

To be continued... listing all the meet & greets we have coming up is getting stressful, ha, so we will just focus on the above for a little while! Enjoying every minute of planning the day that marks the begining of forever :}

Groomsmen Picked... Amazing Fiance!

ITS ABOUT TIME... ha.

Tyler had a tough time picking out his groomsmen because he knew it was an important decision and has so many wonderful men in his life to pick from.

I don't want to give the surprise away, but just know i am SO excited that this task is accomplished.

Let's praise Ty for a minute for...
(1) Picking his groomsmen
(2) Picking the food choices for the reception
(3) Picking a FABULOUS pastor to wed us
(4) Picking AND landscaping the location for our engagement photos!
(5) Helping register for gifts
(6) Enduring atleast 30mins, if not an hour, per day of wedding talk :))

He truly is the best- and I am truly blessed!

{He even crossed out & high lighted :)}

Registering

Over the course of the last week, Tyler and I have been trying to think of all the items for the Kitchen and Bedrooms that we do not already have- so that we can register for them. It is CRAZY how many things a household contains! We dug through both of our mother's kitchens and made a list or two!

We visited CrateAndBarrel and found a cute, and practical, set of dishes- all white so they will go well with any decorations we pick throughout our marriage. I AM IN LOVE WITH THEM {Can't wait to decorate & "furnish" our very own home}. Then we found a comforter that Tyler approved of, solid colored, comfy and hypoallergenic, at BedBath&Beyond. Now, we just have to add the other items {you know: spatulas and sheet sets} to our registries at those two places.

Registering is fun... I can't wait until we know where we will be living. We are thinking it will most likely be an apartment for the first year but we aren't crossing off renting a home or buying a home just yet. Tyler really loves the Midland area, so we are looking out that way. Anywhere where he can legally hunt and own fancy weapons, and he'll be a happy hubby :).
LESS THAN 5 MONTHS TO THE WEDDING!! :))

{Cup} Cakes

Nothing like a yummy chocolate dessert to pump you up for your wedding! I mentioned at a girl's lunch, with some of my favorite high school friends, that I was still searching for a {cup}cake maker for our wedding. Later that day, my high school BFF Jenna texted me to let me know that her step mother makes cupcakes and cakes and would love to give my idea a try. I texted her step mother, Diana, the following picture and simply said "I have no recipe other than to say that my family would like them to look like and taste like a smore-- the more chocolate the better".

Diana was able to make me a sample of a dozen cupcakes... she made two different top designs and created an AMAZING smore bottom... gramham cracker bottom, topped with melted hershey chocolate, a fudge chocolate cupcake with two mini marshmellows baked within. YES they were as good as they sound-- if not better!! Diana will be making our wedding {cup}cakes!

**Special notice: I wanted all cupcakes, no cake. Just to be a little different! You can still smash a cupcake in the grooms face... and you can even cut cupcakes, too! :)**

Check out Diana's work and feel free to email her (diana.hill63@yahoo.com) if you need cupcakes-- reference me!

The pictures were not upside down orginially... I will work on fixing that!

Engagement Photos Coming Up Soon!

This upcoming Sunday, Tyler and I will join our photographer (http://www.angela-tucker.com/) for a two hour engagement session! I am SO EXCITED but SO NERVOUS... do you know how many things have to be done before taking pictures?!?

Finding a location: We want a location that resembles our rustic-country wedding theme. We also want that location to allow for Tyler's firearms and our dog Buddy. Easier said then done! In the end, Tyler's wonderful employers are allowing us to take pictures on their company's property... complete with a barn, pond, tractor, and the cutest little "love bench". We also want to do some fun and active photos... so you may also see the local park pictured for some basketball competition :).

Outfits: Going along with the rustic-country theme... I knew I wanted to wear my wedding cowgirl boots, but that was all I AM certain about. Yes... 4 days until photos and I STILL DO NOT have an outfit picked out. We plan to wear two outfits each... the second outfit has been planned for awhile and while I plan to keep it a secret I will give you a hint: we will wear it on the basketball court. HOWEVER, I have no clue what we will end up wearing for the fishing photos. Stay tuned!

Grooming: Tyler had to plan ahead when to shave and get a fade haircut- so that facial and head hair would grow back at the appropriate lengths for pictures. If you know Tyler- You know that is extreme!! I also had to plan when to dye my hair, how to style it, (what to wear), when to get nails done--and what colors to choose, as well as working on my tan at the beach last week WITHOUT getting burned. Lets also add in that I have been exercising like crazy since graduation  to ensure I shed a few unwanted pounds-- since the camera is known to add a few. WOAH. Buttttt that is not all... our dog also needs his nails trimmed and a bath!

Props & Ideas: What will we do in the pictures? I searched pinterest and numerous photo albums to collect ideas of what poses and picture styles I liked. I also shopped on etsy for cute items to use in the photos and then at the reception of our wedding. Ultimately, I came up with way too many ideas!! I will say that burlap and the game scrabble, which Ty and I play all the time, will both be seen in the photos!

Practice: Tonight I literally convinced Ty to stand in front of a mirror with me and practice smiling... this was actually completely hilirious as we ended up trying to mimic different emotions and realized neither of us would have made for a good model- lol. Let's hope Angela has experience with novice models :).

SNEAK PEAK: Here are a two photos I hope to duplicate with Ty, and Budster, this Sunday...
